IDRC’s operations in Southeast and East Asia are guided by its regional office in Singapore, established in 1971.  The office coordinates the Centre’s operations in 12 countries. In the past 30 years, IDRC has supported more than 2 000 research projects directed and managed by Asian researchers and institutions.

Extension of Photo Contest Announcement 2008-10-07
IDRC ASRO would like to thank all who participated in the recently closed photo competition entitled "Research and Development in Pictures". Due to the overwhelming response we got, we are extending the announcement of winners to October 17, 2008. Please watch out for it.

Information Kit on the Safe Use of Wastewater in Agriculture 2008-09-12
IDRC, the World Health Organization, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations have released an information kit to help countries reuse wastewater while ensuring the safety of drinking water.  See here for details.

IDRC-ASRO is proud to host the SIFE (ACE) Memorial Team who will be in Singapore to represent Canada in the "Students in Free Enterprise" World Championships in early October.   Four Singapore alumni of Memorial University Marine Institute, Newfoundland, will be sharing with the students the business environment in Asia and the challenges they face.  See attached program.
